Police Officer Dies on I-95 Days After Authorities Announce “Zero-Tolerance” Policy

It seems that with each passing week, another person dies on I-95. These New Hampshire car accidents have caused considerable concern among residents, and some say that the local authorities are not doing enough to prevent further tragedy. A recent accident claimed the life of a police officer and resident of New Hampshire – just days after police vowed to stop these incidents over the holiday season.

New Hampshire Police Officer Killed After Head-On Collision on I-95

 In November of 2024, it was reported that a New Hampshire police officer had lost his life after a head-on collision on I-95. The incident began when other police officers heard reports of a Tesla driving on the wrong side of the I-95. They tried to stop the Tesla using a tire-deflation device, but when they caught up with the vehicle, it had already crashed into a Chevrolet Trailblazer.

First responders struggled to extricate the two drivers, who had become trapped within serious wreckage. It quickly became clear that they had suffered serious injuries, and the nearby lanes were cleared to make room for an air ambulance helicopter. The driver of the Trailblazer was pronounced dead at the scene before the helicopter arrived – and he was later identified as a New Hampshire police officer.

The driver of the Tesla was airlifted to the nearest hospital, and he is expected to face criminal charges for his role in the crash. That being said, the crash is still under investigation.

 New Hampshire Police Announce “Zero-Tolerance” Policy for I-95 Safety 

This blow to law enforcement in New Hampshire is particularly demoralizing because they had just announced a “zero-tolerance” policy for future accidents on the I-95. Two days before one of their officers lost his life on the highway, the New Hampshire State Police told drivers that they planned to ticket every single driver pulled over for legitimate traffic offenses.

The state police noted that the I-95 had seen a worrying number of fatalities in recent months and weeks – but they could not have predicted that the next victim would be one of their own.

Unfortunately, these I-95 crashes will likely increase over the holiday season. Statistically speaking, this is the most dangerous part of the entire year – and it is associated with a higher number of fatalities.
