Multi-Vehicle Crash Proves Fatal on Everett Turnpike

CarAcc8

Another motorist has lost their life in New Hampshire after a recent crash on the Everett Turnpike. The accident involved numerous vehicles, and two other drivers suffered serious injuries in addition to the deceased woman. If you were injured due to a multi-vehicle crash in New Hampshire, you may want to discuss your legal options alongside an experienced accident attorney.

Woman Crosses Median Before Fatal, Multi-Vehicle Collision

In December of 2024, police in New Hampshire confirmed that a multi-vehicle crash had occurred at around midday on the Everett Turnpike. This accident began when the driver of a Dodge pickup truck veered off the road, crossing the median and moving into oncoming traffic. The pickup truck then impacted two vehicles, including a GMC pickup truck and a sedan.

A female passenger riding in the Dodge pickup truck suffered fatal injuries as a result of the crash. The driver of the Dodge also suffered minor injuries, and a passenger in the GMC pickup truck was hospitalized with serious injuries. The occupants of the sedan seem to have escaped from the wreck completely unharmed.

A witness driving past the wreckage said that the Dodge pickup truck was heavily damaged, and that all of its airbags had activated. She also reported seeing numerous people in neck braces. After the crash, police did not reveal whether anyone involved had been charged with criminal offenses. However, they did state that the crash would remain under investigation.

Although the exact cause of the crash is not clear, one might argue that it would not have happened if there had been a median barrier of some kind. This is proving to be a highly controversial issue in New Hampshire, as countless accidents within the past year have involved vehicles crossing the median.

Local authorities have responded by installing reflective components along the median, but the only reliable way to stop a car from crossing the median is with a solid barrier of some kind.

Why Are So Many Drivers Crossing Medians?

If you were injured by a driver who crossed the median on a New Hampshire highway, you may need to prove why they entered oncoming traffic. Possible explanations include distraction (such as texting and driving), intoxication, medical emergencies, and fatigue. This behavior may constitute “negligence,” and it may allow you to file an accident lawsuit to recover compensation. Speak with an experienced accident lawyer to learn more about your options in this scenario.
