Four Injuries Reported in New Hampshire Crash Near Fireworks Show

Fireworks2

New Year’s Eve is a joyous time for many, but it also tends to cause numerous car accidents in New Hampshire. The early hours of 2025 were no exception, and a particularly notable incident involved a crash near a fireworks show in Claremont. The details of this crash are not exactly clear, but four people were seriously injured. If you were injured in a New Year’s Eve crash this year, consider speaking with an injury attorney in New Hampshire.

Driver Was In a “Trance State” After Hitting Several People Near a Fireworks Show

On New Year’s Day, WMUR 9 reported that four people had suffered serious injuries after a crash near a fireworks show in Claremont. Police say that the fireworks display had just ended when a driver slammed into a parked car, pinning several people between the two vehicles. Four people were crushed. One witness said they had to bang on the driver’s window in an attempt to snap him out of a “trance state.”

The driver himself was also injured in the collision, and all five individuals were eventually transported to a nearby hospital with various injuries. The witness’ statement implies that the driver may have been distracted by the fireworks, intoxicated, or both. After the accident, however, police noted that they hadn’t made any arrests – and that the crash was still under investigation.

According to another report by WCAX 3, the driver “revved his engine” after the crash, potentially causing further injuries to the people crushed between the vehicles. This report also stated that witnesses had to forcibly drag the driver out of his vehicle – presumably to prevent him from causing any more damage.

This incident comes after a string of high-profile incidents across the country over the New Year’s Eve period – including an intentional ramming attack in New Orleans. Even if this crash in New Hampshire was completely unintentional, it undoubtedly stirred up similar fears about terrorism. New Hampshire also saw at least one shooting in Claremont over New Year’s Eve, creating even more trauma for locals.

Why Do So Many Crashes Occur Over New Year’s Eve?

During the New Year’s Eve period, crashes may be more likely for various reasons. Perhaps the most obvious factor is intoxication, as many people drink heavily during this night of celebration. Another potential factor is distraction, especially with so many flashing lights, loud noises, and fireworks.
